We certainly do live in an electronic world and this can present some very specific problems for those of us that take advantage of it. For example, many of us tend to use mobile computers in order to stay in touch and they can be destroyed quickly if they are overheated. It is not only the laptop itself that needs to cool down; it’s also the individual components that need to be taken into consideration. When you are looking for laptop coolers, sometimes known as notebook coolers, here are some things for you to keep in mind.

The first thing that needs to be cooled down is the CPU itself. It doesn’t matter what kind of CPU you use, they are all susceptible to damage from heat. There are specific fans that can take care of Intel’s CPU cooling and others that will take care of AMD CPU cooling. Although the CPU fans can often be used, regardless of what type of chip you have in your computer, there are cases in which the fan needs to be chip specific. Make sure you understand what is inside of your laptop before you purchase something to keep it cool.

Something that also needs to be taken into consideration is how much noise the CPU fans are going to make. Some of them can actually get quite noisy so it is something that you need to ask about ahead of time. Most of us would prefer having silent CPU fans so that we do not have to listen to the hum while we are working. It is not always necessary for us to have one that is totally silent, however, because there are also some quiet PC cases that do a good job of restricting the amount of noise that escapes to our ears.

The PC playground is full of components, all vying for the title of the most important part of your rig. Everybody has a different opinion; for some it’s the processor, all that maths squeezed into a tiny bit of silicon; for others it’s the graphics card, boards designed specifically to throw pixels about your panel like plates at a Greek wedding. But where would either of those supermodels of the component world be without a compatible motherboard backing them up? Nowhere. And that’s where your PC will end up without a decent power supply keeping the whole lot juiced to the gunnels.

If you make a really bad choice of PSU, your entire rig may end up a smoldering heap at the e-waste recycling point of your local Pikitup. Cascade effects from faulty, or even from just under-powering supplies, can have unpleasant repercussions on the rest of the components making their home in your PC.

Repercussions such as turning your precious $1 000 pixel-pusher into so much molten slag…

Choosing the PSU is then an important part of the PC-building experience, so in this article we’ll make that choice a bit easier for you. Will you need a monolithic supply to keep that multi-GPU, desktop giant in check? Or can you make do with something a little more conservative?

Text and images (scans of census records) are crisper and sharper and the LCD monitor is easier on your eyes. Monitor’s size: Traditional monitors are similar to a TV because both of them have the CRT (Cathode Ray Tube). That is the reason for its bigger size. It therefore occupies more space at the desk. It is also heavy.

However, LCD monitors have thin flat screen. Therefore occupies very less space and is lighter than the CRT monitor. LCD monitors can be fixed even on wall. Display Size: Even though the display size of a CRT monitor is calculated diagonally, the actual display size is smaller. For instance a 17″ CRT monitor will actually have a display size of only 16″ However, the display size of 17″ LCD monitor will have 17″ display size. Resolution: CRT monitors can show different resolutions. The resolution can be changed as required. LCD Monitors will have Native Resolution and therefore has a fixed resolution. The best resolution will be the native resolution for that LCD monitor. Viewing Direction: A CRT screen can be viewed from all directions. And from different distance. But LCD monitors cannot be viewed from all directions. LCD monitors can only be viewed straight. Therefore its viewing direction is limited. If viewed from other directions the colors will change and sometimes the vision will be unclear if not viewed straight. But in recent years the new LCD monitors have improved on this defect. Radiation Emission: The radiation emission in CRT monitors are higher. This will not be visible normally but it will affect eyesight and may cause head ache. Long term use of these monitors may even affect the eyes adversely. LCD monitors do not have this type of Radiation emission. Therefore LCD monitors are good for the eyes. Price: CRT monitors are priced very cheap. However they consume more power. LCD monitors are priced higher, but they consume less electricity. Though the electricity consumption is not very significant for personal use, it is very cost efficient in big organizations with many computers.

Computer hardware is a physical part of a computer that executes within the hardware. It is unlike computer software or data that can be frequently changed, modified or erased on a computer. Computer hardware is not frequently changed and so is stored in hardware devices such as read only memory (ROM) where it is not readily changed.

Most computer hardware is embedded and so is not visible to normal users. Below are the different types of hardware’s found in a computer.

Motherboard: It is the central or primary circuit board making up a complex electronic system such as a computer. A motherboard is also known as a main board, logic board or system board.

Central processing Unit: A CPU is the main component of a digital computer that interprets instructions and process data in computer programs.

Random Access Memory: A RAM allows the stored data to be accessed in any order. RAM is considered as the main memory of the computer where the working area is used for displaying and manipulating data.
