What’s The Deal?
SSH Commands started off as a dump for linux commands by the author, having a bad memory and sometimes went through long periods of time without having to work in servers so the information was pushed out. The commands used in SSH normally don’t allow for much error so its good to have them on reference some where. From there SSH Commands was born.
Our aim now is to be a place beginners can turn to when they need help with basic SSH Commands, or that little reminder free of charge.
What is SSH?
SSH is secure shell, a tool used to connect and talk to linux servers. These commands aren’t SSH commands as such, but more so commands that can be used in SSH whilst talking to the linux server.
Most of these commands presented are based around a Red Hat/CentOS operating systems. We don’t warrant the accuracy or compatibility of the information provided here, instead provide information as a possible channel for new users, resolution seekers and more research.

Introduction
This is an article on SSH, the marvelous secure socket shell that can be used a myriad of remote login and file transfer ways. The focus of my article is the OpenSSH software package specifically: it’s feature-rich, I am the most familiar with it, and lastly (and most importantly) is very prevalent in the Linux world — it’s installed by default in just about every Linux distribution (and Mac OSX, BSD, etc.) Some other client applications for Windows like PuTTY or SecureCRT have some of these features implemented, but that’s beyond the scope of this article.
Within this article, I’m going to focus on SSH keys and their uses, and some tools that we can use to manage these ssh keys. I’m planning to release more articles related to SSH, such as scp usage, port forwarding, and so on as time goes on.

This posting will discuss which of the following three programs deserves the title of “best freeware antivirus program”: Avira Antivir, Avast, or AVG. My conclusion: all three are very worthy contenders that can hold their own or surpass any heavyweight for-pay antivirus; however Anitvir and Avast are definitely in the first tier, while AVG is a close second tier.
There’s been a vigorous debate going on in the little “cbox” message box (in the sidebar) over which freeware antivirus program is best. This posting will explore this issue more closely. The objective is to go beyond the ubiquitous “I have used program x for y years now and it has kept me completely virus free” to a more substantial comparison.
The findings presented here are not my original work but come from a single source: AV-comparative.org’s antivirus comparison tests conduced in Nov 2008 (test #20) and Feb 2009 (test #21), which are the latest as of this writing. It is somewhat difficult to reference these as sources because the av-comparatives site disallows direct linking to the test results and requests that all links be to its root domain (presumably because new tests are always published and they do not want links to results that may be obsolete).

This article presents three handy free programs designed to remove installed applications from your system: Appremover, PC Decrapifier, and Revo Uninstraller. All three are portable (or, in the case of Revo, have a portable version available).
1- Appremover: uninstalls security applications
Have you ever uninstalled a security application only to discover that related files/folders/registry entries still remain on your computer? For some reason (I cannot put my finger on) this is actually not uncommon when uninstalling various antivirus and security apps. I remember uninstalling Norton AV many (many) years ago only to find traces of it all over my PC; at the time I used a free “Remove Norton” type app that did the job of really removing it completely. Appremover is similar, except it is not simply Norton specific and uninstalls a wide range of security programs.

Nearly three years ago, a video demo of a new desktop user interface, the BumpTop, captivated YouTube viewers. A year later the creator, Anand Agarawala, was called to the august TED conference to present. Now the BumpTop software is here, ready for you and your Windows PC. I gave it a spin.
It’s certainly very cool. In many ways it is a better desktop than the one that comes with Windows (even Windows 7) or OS X. But as cool as it is, it feels like a toy. That’s because the locus of modern personal computing is not the desktop. People live in apps and in the browser.
BumpTop makes the desktop better, but so what? It won’t make you more productive in your e-mail app, and it currently doesn’t touch the Web browsing experience. BumpTop doesn’t go deep enough into Windows to replace the way we work with information. Instead, it adds yet another interface to use in addition to the Windows utilities (like the file manager), your apps, and your Web browser.

We’ve become so accustomed to the ease and convenience of iTunes and blink-and-you-miss-’em CD rips that we forget how in the mid-1990s, ripping a CD was a time-consuming process fraught with peril. Shoot, ripping a single disc to a 128Kbps MP3 could take eight hours on a 200MHz Pentium! Fast forward a decade and faster hardware and better software have made CD ripping so mainstream your mom does it.
Now, ripping DVDs is our great challenge. Copying and transcoding the disc’s video into more efficient formats involves math an order of magnitude scarier than what’s required to rip audio CDs. A machine that will rip the latest Miley Cyrus CD in mere moments could take hours to extract and convert your copy of Alien vs. Predator to an iPod-friendly format. But with the right software, a quad-core-equipped PC, and a little know-how, you can cut your disc-rip time from hours to 30 minutes. Plenty of tricks and traps still await first-time rippers, but we’ll show you the basics and then walk you through some of the most valuable power-user ripping secrets.
