Just one day after Yahoo announced they’re adding support for images and video in their search ads, Google decided to spice up their AdSense ads a little – but just a little.

Now, instead of being stuck with the default font for all your AdSense ads, you can choose between three different font faces: Arial, Times and Verdana.

While the choice is not as funky as some publishers would want, it’s still better than being stuck with “Standard AdSense font family,” which is still the default. Beware, though: as Google warns on the official AdSense blog, the standard font has “performed well across browsers and displays.” By changing the font, your results might get better, but they also might get worse.

CTR stands for Click Thru Rate.
Suppose you have 500 visitors and 25 of them clicks on your ads, then your CTR can be calculated as:
CTR = (25/500)*100 = 5%

CTR is an important factor that can influence the earning potential of a website. CTR can vary across industry. For example the CTR in a Google Adsense forum may be low as the users are very well aware of the ads present and they tend to ignore them. But in your industry (food) we can hope that the users won’t be very much aware of ads. Again CTR depends on ad position, its color and some other factors like the size of the ad unit. If optimized, a CTR of at least 4 – 5 can be achieved.

So in your case, this will be the equation.
CTR = (clicks/1000)*100 = 5
clicks = 50
ie; you will have approx 50 clicks a day.

Now the pay per click will depend on your site’s content. You will have to use keyword research to find the good paying keywords in your industry (food) and write more pages on these keywords. You can drive traffic to these pages and monetize them better.

The title of this post might be a little confusing so let me explain. A lot of people use Google Adsense on their website to make money online. I am sure everyone who is using it has read all the policies and so forth about how many link units, ad units, etc they can place on one single page. Well one misconception a lot of people have is that more ads on the page is better. Here are a few reasons why you may want to try less ad units.

More Ad units causes clutter on the page
You do not want to clutter your website/blog too much with ads otherwise people will not want to read your website in the first place. If it all looks like one big ad that can scare many people off. It is important to make a very good impressions in the first couple seconds to a new visitor otherwise they will lose interest right away and move on. So if you have less ads on the page and you blend those ads into the page you can retain visitors. And if you can retain visitors and make them come back you can potentially earn money from them later.

While, you need to make your AdSense unit blend in with your content, so use rectangular boxes. While this is unlikely accurate since Google will never tell you exactly why it is you have been banned from AdSense it may be possible, because carefully having reviewed the Terms of Service there are restrictions that seem all too vague, but considerably risky to leave un ascertained. If you are building content websites with the aim of earning an AdSense income then you will know that the ads shown are dependent upon the surrounding content on your web pages. In a nutshell, Ad Section Targeting allows you to emphasize what keywords Google AdSense will pick up from your site.

The keywords that appear most frequently within the page, search engine queries that lead to the page or to another page that links to the page”. Unless you have a decent amount of quality content your blog will appear to be a sleazy MFA site (made for AdSense) which will have a negative effect on traffic. Begin by utilizing AdSense and then add one strategy at a time. 1) Ways to make money from AdSense by Distributing articles through Ezine and Press Releases One effective method of increasing AdSense revenue is simply increasing the number of targeted visitors that visit your AdSense-content page. I earn anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 every month through AdSense.

AdSense is a fantastic way to monetize your website and if your site is set up correctly you can make a nice little income with it. There are many website owners out there making a lot of money simply by having AdSense ads on their sites.

The problem with AdSense is that if you just shove them on your page any old way, you could have a ton of traffic and not get any clicks. However, if you spend a little time in setting up your AdSense campaigns and get them right, you can make a lot of money.

Here are 5 tips on what you can do to improve your AdSense income:

1. Choose the AdSense box size that converts well. The large rectangle is a known converter and just by replacing a different size box with the large rectangle may increase your revenue. With the large rectangle box, the ads look like normal web links and therefore your visitors are more likely to click on them. This is the main aim with your AdSense ads, is to blend them to look like the rest of your site.

2. Choose the AdSense color to blend with your site. When creating your AdSense campaign you can change the colors of the background, border, title, text and link. By choosing the background and border colors to match those of your website the ads will blend nicely with your site and as a result wont stand out as being ads.

At the beginning of using Google Adsense, I think when people visit my blog, they will click on my Google ads and I will earn money. I used to believe that the more viewers visit my blog, the more money I can earn. So I just pasted the ad code into my blog’s template and waited for the huge amount of money come. Later I realized that without optimization, that’s impossible.  Below are some tricks to increase Google Adsense CTR that I get from my own experiences and from other bloggers’.

1. When use the ad code, you must make sure the ads that are appearing on your site are closely related with your content (adsense does this well). If your ads are not relevant, there’s small possibility that people will click on them.

2. Blending your ads with your website themes such as background’s color, links’ color, text display color…People often don’t click on your ads if they realize that they are going to click on an advertising link.

3. Use best performing ads such as 336×280, 300×250 or 250×250.These wide ads often work well on many different kinds of websites.

A lot of people are asking me “how do I increase my AdSense earnings?” So I have complied a list with things to do to help increase your AdSense Earnings Below;

Advertisement Size
The size of your Advertisement can help your click through rate, The best size adds that get the highest amount of Click through are 300×250 (These are usually are flash videos which are more likely to attract people to click them) Also 336×280 This will display 4 Text links in a rectangle this is Also Especially good for a click through rate. If you can combine this size adds in your blog then try to do it as it will boost your AdSense earnings!

Advertisement Position
This if done well can also hugely benefit your Click through rate, as well as needing good size adds you also need advertisements where your visitors can see them. Lots of bloggers utilise their site navigation to place there adds to try and get a good click through rate. But I recommend that if you have a 3 column website with 2 widget columns together to place a large 336×280 Advertisement block at the top there as all your users will see it before your site navigation so are even more likely to click it. If you don’t have a 3 column template then even with a 2 column template you can place your ads on top of your site navigation to get a high click through rate. Remember put your adds where people will see them don’t place them at the bottom of the page. Other good places for advertisements are in The Headers of your blog and text links in between your posts!
